Which Thermocyclers are compatible with the Nunc Amplification Workstation, i.e., GeNunc Tube Tray and Holder with Lid?
Nunc's Amplification Workstation is compatible with 96 well format thermocyclers with a 0.2 ml tube block. For example, Perkin Elmer Gene Amp PCR System 9600, Perkin Elmer Gene Amp PCR System 9700, Techne Genius with 96 x 0.2 ml block, MJ Research PTC-200 DNA Engine, MJ Research PTC-100-96, Ericomp Delta Cycler, Barnstead Thermolyne Amplitron II, Lab-Line Programmable Thermal Blok Model 212 and Hybaid Touchdown with 0.2 ml block are each compatible with the Workstation.

What material is the GeNunc Tube Tray and Holder?
Polyphenylenine oxide. This material is autoclavable and is resistant to solvents and weak acids.

Are the GeNunc Tube Tray and Holder autoclavable?
Yes, the temperature range is from -20°C to +130°C.

Can the Tape used to seal GeNunc Modules be boiled?
The tape is thermostable from -20°C to +100°C.

What is the pore size of Pall Biodyne B Nylon Membrane?
The pore size of this membrane used with the OmniTray is 0.45 µm.

Is the Pall Biodyne B Nylon Membrane sterile?
No, this membrane is not supplied sterile, even though the OmniTray is sterile.

When screening DNA libraries, how much Agar is added the the OmniTray?
The OmniTray can hold 35 ml of growth media. 1.5% agar is recommended to be added to the growth media. See Tech Note Vol. 3 No. 21.

Does Nunc have a square Petri dish with a grid on the bottom?
No, Nunc manufactures a 100 x 15 mm square Petri dish, but this item does not have a grid.

When performing an in situ hybridization using NucleoLink Strips, what are the detection methods?
The detection methods for this type of experiment can be fluorometric, colorimetric or use of a radioactive probe.

What is the "shelf-life" of NucleoLink Strips stored in a sealed ethylene bag at 4°C?
Uncoated NucleoLink Strips are stable for at least three years if the original packing is intact. After "coating" the strips with an oligonucleotide probe, we generally store the strips in a sealed ethylene bag at 4°C. The stability may vary with the probe composition. NucleoLink Strips are stored in a sealed bag at 4°C and are stable for at least 10 months.

Is EDAC the same compound as EDC?
Yes, both acronyms are used for the same compound. The chemical name for EDC is 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-carbodiimide and the chemical name for EDAC is N-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-N-ethyl-carbodiimide. Both of these compounds are structurally equivalent.

Does Nunc have 96-well plates with snap-on lids which lock to prevent evaporation?
No, Nunc MicroWell polystyrene plates are sold individually or in a sleeve of 5 without lids. However, we do have accessories for these plates which include lids that loosely cover the plate and adhesive tape that covers the entire 86 x 128 mm plate.

Does the 384 Well Plate autofluoresce?
The 384 Well Plate is made of a select, crystalline polystyrene which exhibits minimal autofluorescence.

Does Nunc sell 0.2 ml tubes to be used for amplification or PCR?
